Kapil Agarwal Honoured as Global CEO for Championing the Future of Circular Textiles

In recognition of his leadership in advancing circularity and sustainable innovation in the textile sector, Mr. Kapil Agarwal, Business Head – Textiles, Thai Acrylic Fibre and Overseas Spinning, Aditya Birla Group, has been honoured as the Global CEO for Circular Enterprise at the Biotec Fashion & Circularity Summit 2026.

This recognition reflects his strong belief that the future of textiles will be shaped not only by scale and efficiency, but by circular value chains, responsible innovation, and intelligent resource use. Through his leadership, the textile business within the Aditya Birla Group is actively contributing to the development of scalable solutions for textile recycling and sustainable material lifecycles.

Driving Circular Innovation in Textiles

Mr. Agarwal has consistently advocated a forward-looking perspective that places circularity at the centre of the textile industry’s growth. His efforts focus on moving beyond sustainability commitments toward practical pathways for textile recycling, responsible material innovation, and circular production models.

By encouraging the industry to rethink product lifecycles—from fibre to fabric and back into the value chain—his leadership is helping shape how the textile sector can grow while using resources more efficiently.

A Distinguished Career with Aditya Birla Group

A Chartered Accountant by profession, Mr. Agarwal has been associated with the Aditya Birla Group for nearly 29 years, holding several key leadership roles across businesses. His career includes positions such as Executive Assistant to the Chairman, Regional Head, Head of Buying and Merchandising, Head of Supply Chain, and Head of Operations.

He has also led large multicultural teams across global operations, managing over 5,000 employees from diverse nationalities, including India, Thailand, Indonesia, Germany, and Slovakia.

Mr. Agarwal has pursued several leadership development programmes at global institutions such as INSEAD, Harvard, and IIM Ahmedabad, and was honoured with the Chairman’s Outstanding Leader Award in 2022.

Known for his strong focus on financial discipline, operational efficiency, and working capital management, Mr. Agarwal has guided the business through both growth phases and challenging market conditions.

His strategic outlook and ability to identify emerging opportunities have helped strengthen the Group’s textile operations while maintaining a balance between performance, innovation, and long-term sustainability.
