KARL MAYER has expanded its TM WEFT machine portfolio with the launch of the new TM WEFT, 270″, a high-performance weft-insertion warp knitting machine designed to deliver greater productivity and enhanced design flexibility for the fashion and apparel industry.

Developed with a focus on the requirements of key apparel manufacturing markets such as China and Türkiye, the new model features a wider working width of 270 inches, enabling higher output while offering expanded possibilities for fabric design and pattern development.

A key enhancement is the increase in maximum threading capacity in the weft-insertion system from 30 to 36 weft ends. This allows manufacturers to work with a broader range of yarns, colours and material combinations, creating more sophisticated stripe effects, geometric patterns and textured fabrics.

The machine also supports the production of seersucker effects through the targeted use of elastane and enables selective stopping of the weft-insertion system to create functional openings or transparent stripe effects as design elements.

Further design flexibility is provided by the machine’s multi-speed function, which allows stitch density to be varied between 9 and 30 courses per centimetre. This feature enhances the visual contrast between opaque and transparent fabric areas, offering apparel designers greater creative freedom.

According to KARL MAYER, the TM WEFT, 270″ combines the aesthetic and structural benefits of woven fabrics with the efficiency and versatility of warp knitting by enabling weft insertion across the entire working width.

Available in gauges E24 and E28, the machine is capable of processing a wide variety of materials, including polyester, viscose, effect yarns and fancy yarns. The weft-insertion system accommodates yarn counts ranging from 33 dtex to 500 dtex, while the knitting unit processes yarns from 22 dtex to 110 dtex.

The machine operates at speeds of up to 1,800 rpm and incorporates pre-winders and a fabric spreading device to ensure uniform yarn feeding, consistent tension control and high fabric quality.

KARL MAYER will showcase fabrics produced on the TM WEFT, 270″ during ITM 2026, scheduled from June 9 to 13 at the Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Center in Istanbul, where the company will exhibit at Booth 3/303 A.

The new TM WEFT model reinforces KARL MAYER’s focus on delivering advanced warp knitting solutions that combine productivity, versatility and creative design capabilities for modern apparel manufacturing.
