Lindex has partnered with BASF to introduce textile-to-textile recycled polyamide into the lingerie segment, marking a significant step towards circular material innovation in fashion.

Through the collaboration, Lindex will integrate BASF’s loopamid, a recycled polyamide 6 produced entirely from textile waste, into selected lingerie products scheduled for launch in early 2027.

The partnership reflects Lindex’s continued focus on increasing the use of recycled materials and reducing reliance on virgin raw materials. Having already advanced textile-to-textile recycling in cellulosic fibres, the company is now extending circular innovation to polyamide, a key material category within lingerie.

Developed by BASF, loopamid is created from both post-industrial and post-consumer textile waste. The technology enables the recycling of polyamide-based textiles, including blended materials that are traditionally difficult to process, while maintaining performance and quality comparable to virgin polyamide. It also supports multiple recycling cycles, contributing to a closed-loop material system.

For the lingerie sector, where polyamide remains a critical component due to its durability, elasticity and comfort properties, the adoption of loopamid represents a notable advancement in combining performance with sustainability.

The initiative also aligns with Lindex’s broader sustainability target of ensuring that 100% of the materials used across its collections are either recycled or sustainably sourced by the end of 2026.
