Uster Technologies is strengthening its focus on data-driven raw material management with Uster FiberQ, a solution designed to help spinners improve quality consistency, process stability and raw material utilization, particularly for recycled yarn production.

Turkish denim manufacturer ORTA Anadolu has adopted the FiberQ system to support its sustainable denim manufacturing operations. The company said the platform enables better control over raw material utilization and supports informed decision-making across production processes.

FiberQ is part of the Uster 360Q ecosystem, which integrates testing instruments, software and textile expertise into a unified raw material management platform. The system provides enhanced visibility of warehouse inventories and enables mills to balance raw material usage more effectively for consistent quality and improved efficiency.

According to ORTA, the implementation of FiberQ has helped improve blend preparation and quality monitoring while reducing variations in critical fibre parameters such as micronaire and colour. The company said this has significantly lowered the risk of shade variation in downstream processes, especially for sensitive fabric constructions such as gabardine.

“Our company identified the need to focus on data-driven knowledge to take control of its raw material utilization, and make the correct decisions for process efficiency, quality and productivity,” said Orhan Herdem. “The FiberQ system from Uster offers us a comprehensive system for fiber management from the start and throughout the mill processes.”

ORTA added that the system has also reduced unnecessary trial processes, lowered waste generation and improved production efficiency and cost control. The company currently operates 66,000 spindles at its Kayseri facility in Türkiye with a daily output of 55,000 kg.

Uster Technologies will showcase Uster 360Q and FiberQ at ITM 2026 in Istanbul, where visitors will be able to explore the platform and related services through interactive demonstrations at the company’s booth in Hall 7.
