Surat Yarn Dyeing Sector Revises Processing Rates Amid Rising Input Costs
Surat’s yarn dyeing industry has announced a fresh revision in processing charges following sharp increases in fuel, power, dyes, chemicals, labour, packaging and compliance costs. The decision was taken during the Surat Yarn Dyeing Manufacturer Association meeting held on 8 May 2026.
The industry body increased dyeing charges by ₹10 per unit with immediate effect, while freight charges will rise by ₹2.25 per unit from 15 May 2026. A revised quality pricing structure has also been introduced, maintaining a ₹15 per kg differential between 150 denier and 110 denier Lichi yarn bookings.
Payment terms have been tightened to 25 to 30 days from delivery, and delayed payments beyond 30 days will attract 18% annual interest. The association also fixed cationic yarn pricing at ₹30 above polyester rates.
Surat processes nearly 40% of India’s synthetic textile production, making these revisions significant across the polyester and man-made fibre value chain.
