Event in New Delhi to bring global buyers and industry stakeholders amid evolving trade and policy framework

India’s textile and apparel sector is advancing toward its long-term growth targets, supported by aligned trade policies and domestic initiatives. Bharat Tex 2026, scheduled from July 14 to 17 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, is set to take place during this phase of sectoral development. The event will bring together industry participants, policymakers, and international buyers.

Recent Free Trade Agreements with the European Union, the United Kingdom, UAE and Australia provide access to a combined USD 465 billion global market. These agreements offer zero-duty or preferential access, positioning Indian textile manufacturers to expand their global presence. The Ministry of Textiles has indicated a target of capturing at least USD 200 billion of this export potential.

On the domestic front, the Union Budget 2026-27 introduced six integrated initiatives: the National Fibre Scheme, Textile Expansion and Employment Scheme, National Handloom and Handicraft Programme, Tex-Eco Initiative, Samarth 2.0, and the ₹10,000 crore SME Growth Fund. These initiatives operate alongside RoSCTL and PLI schemes, forming a coordinated policy framework for the sector.

Bharat Tex 2026 is expected to serve as a platform for industry engagement within this context. The event will host over 3,500 exhibitors and 7,000 international buyers from more than 140 countries, enabling business-to-business interactions across the textile value chain.

The event also reflects India’s 5F Vision—Farm to Fibre to Fabric to Fashion to Foreign—covering various stages of textile production and trade. Participants are expected to showcase capabilities in sustainability, innovation, and supply chain operations.
