Sagar Manufacturers Private Limited (SMPL), part of the Sagar Group, has expanded its integrated textile operations with the commissioning of a new dyeing and printing facility in Tamot, Raisen district, Madhya Pradesh. The move marks the company’s transition towards a fully integrated value chain, adding fabric processing capabilities to its existing spinning and knitting operations.

The newly launched unit brings an additional annual capacity of 8,000 metric tonnes of dyed and printed fabrics, enabling SMPL to offer end-to-end solutions to its domestic and international customers. The company exports to over 35 countries and serves more than 200 global brands.

The facility is equipped with advanced machinery and includes a modern testing laboratory, along with the district’s first Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plant, underlining the company’s focus on sustainable manufacturing practices.

Commenting on the development, Managing Director Siddharth Sudhir Agrawal said, “The introduction of dyeing and printing within our integrated textile setup will enable us to better serve customers with customised solutions. With spinning, knitting and now processing under one roof, we can deliver complete fabric solutions aligned to evolving market needs.”

CEO Kapil Kumar Agarwal added, “This expansion strengthens our value chain and reinforces our position as a trusted integrated textile player. Our focus remains on delivering end-to-end solutions while continuously enhancing product innovation and customer value.”

The dyeing and printing unit is also expected to generate over 500 additional jobs, further supporting regional employment. SMPL currently employs more than 6,000 people, with women accounting for around 60% of its workforce.

The company’s product portfolio includes a wide range of knitted fabrics such as single jersey, fleece, interlock and specialty knits, alongside multiple printing techniques including pigment, reactive and discharge printing. It also offers functional finishes like anti-bacterial, moisture management and UV protection.

As part of its sustainability initiatives, SMPL has installed a 28 MW solar power plant across its facilities, contributing to reduced carbon emissions and renewable energy adoption.

Sagar Group operates across sectors including textiles, education, real estate and healthcare, with a broader focus on community development and employment generation.
