Vardhman Textiles Limited has commenced commercial production at its newly established technical textiles facility in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, marking a significant milestone in the execution of its previously announced capital expenditure programme. The plant has been designed with a production capacity of 1.5 million metres of fabric per month.

The commissioning of the facility represents a strategic expansion into higher-value technical textile segments, a move expected to strengthen the company’s product portfolio and enhance its competitive positioning within the domestic and global textile markets. The investment aligns with the company’s broader strategy of capacity augmentation and value addition across specialised textile categories.

The new unit is anticipated to improve operational scale and enable Vardhman to deepen its presence in performance-driven and application-specific textile segments. By increasing its exposure to technical textiles, the company aims to enhance margins and diversify revenue streams over the medium to long term.

For stakeholders, the commencement of commercial production signals the transition from capital deployment to revenue generation. It underscores the company’s continued focus on structured growth and disciplined capacity expansion within India’s evolving textile landscape.

Vardhman Textiles Limited is one of India’s leading vertically integrated textile manufacturers, with a strong presence across the yarn and fabric value chain. The company is among the country’s largest producers of cotton yarn and blended yarns, supplying to both domestic and international markets. Its product portfolio includes a wide range of cotton, polyester-cotton and speciality yarns, as well as woven fabrics used in apparel applications.

Vardhman also manufactures sewing threads and acrylic fibre through its group companies, catering to diverse end-use segments. With multiple manufacturing facilities across several Indian states, the company serves customers in more than 75 countries, positioning itself as a significant exporter in the global textile industry. Its integrated operations, scale efficiencies and focus on quality have enabled it to maintain a strong footprint across spinning, weaving and value-added textile segments.

The addition of the technical textiles plant in Baddi is expected to further consolidate Vardhman’s presence in advanced textile categories and support its long-term growth strategy.
